Position Description:
• Employer: 39th District Court – Haskell County, Texas • Location: Haskell, Texas • Salary: $50,000 plus depending on qualifications and experience • Work Experience: Experience in court reporting is preferred. The Court will consider newly licensed court reporters. • Position Description – Position open 11/13/18, date is negotiable. Official reporting for all cases in the 39th District Court which consists of Haskell, Kent, Stonewall and Throckmorton Counties. Make verbatim records of all proceedings in the 39th District Court. Produce transcripts of testimony and proceedings as requested by the Court, attorneys and parties pursuant to local practices and as required by Texas law. Required attendance at all sessions of Court with all other hours flexible. Reimbursement for meals when in court other than home county (Haskell County). Benefits include employer paid health insurance and retirement plan. Ability to earn extra pay for required transcripts and freelance work when Court is not in session.
Required Skills:
• Required Skills - Court Reporter’s Certification. Must have excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. Must be able to comply with the Texas Code of Judicial Conduct and the Texas Court Reporter Code of Ethics. Must be organized, punctual and have the ability to meet deadlines.
